The 2017 MUCE Summer Series is an initiative to bring arts to the Miami heritage neighborhoods of Liberty City and Little Haiti, during the Summer months of June, July and August. Accepting all mediums of art, the one day pop-up shows includes visual art, live performances, spoken word and film installations sponsored by the South Florida Web Festival.

What is Ode To Hip Hop?
A mixture of old and new, Now Or Neverland: Ode To Hip Hop serves as a visual representation of a genre that influenced a generation. Celebrating over 40 years since inception, Hip Hop will be reflected at varying stages through visual art exhibition, interactive art experiences, local film spotlight, fashion and music.
The Origins of Now or Neverland Art Fair
The Now or Neverland art fair was created by Miami Urban Contemporary Experience (MUCE) in 2014 as a five day satellite fair during Art Basel Miami. Now or Neverland highlights contemporary artists who are hidden gems and provide them with a platform to share their creative voice of our urban landscapes. Held annually in Little Haiti, the art fair attracts over 300 visitors each year and is sponsored by of the Art of Black collective within the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. June 30th | MUCE Summer Series Volume 2: Little Haiti Cultural Complex
In honor of Miami Film Month, the MUCE Summer Series Volume 2 highlighted the screening of the awe-inspiring documentary entitled “Kenbe Fem: To Hold Firm”. Held at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, the night kicked off with a complimentary cocktail hour and exclusive MUCE Pop-Up Gallery. Patrons were given the opportunitiy to chat with the creator of Kenbe Fem, David Pierre Louis and get a “behind the lens” view of the inspiration behind Kenbe Fem and the building of the Kay Tita Impact Hub in Haiti.
About Kenbe Fem
Kenbe Fem is set in the wake of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and follows Pierre-Louis as he organizes emergency relief efforts during the disaster. During his mission, David is confronted with the challenges and setbacks due to severe resource shortages faced by the government and nonprofit sectors in Haiti; “the film challenges us to think about what could happen if there was a concerted effort to connect resource-poor communities in Haiti to the opportunities and networks they need to thrive”, states Pierre-Louis. The film is an extension of his ongoing commitment to create Kay Tita, a sustainable resource center in Haiti. Learn More here
Dec 6-10th, 2017 | Now or Neverland Art Fair
The third annual Now Or Neverland: Ode to Hip-Hop Art Festival during Art Basel weekend is hosted by MUCE. This outdoor art fair, highlights a 2500 square foot tented gallery, highlighting local, national, and international visual artists. The fair includes an opening & closing reception, live performances, fashion, artist talks, youth engagement, and merchandising space for exhibiting artist and interested vendors. Culinary cuisine will be served up by the famous Chef Creole and patrons and artists will have the opportunity to explore the dynamic elements of hip hop at the fantastical Now or Neverland: Ode to hip hop.
